PRE-PRESS SERVICES:  Pre-press services include all the things that need to be done to get your project ready for a printing press. Your project will start as a concept and go through many, if not all of the services listed here before it goes to press.

Mac and PC Based Equipment and Software:  The majority of our work is completed on Macintosh computers using industry-standard software like QuarkXPress,  Photoshop and Illustrator.  We also offer Corel Draw software, Microsoft PowerPoint and Publisher, and both Mac and PC versions of Microsoft Word and Excel. 

Typesetting and Text Management: At Key-One, we learned typesetting and graphics back in the days when typography was still an art form. While our work today is prepared on computers, we continue to practice the skill, craft and art of typography. We also pride ourselves on being accurate, reliable and detail oriented.

Type Fonts:  We have thousands of Adobe and Bitstream fonts available--a style for almost any design look.

Optical Character Recognition (OCR):  Our OCR program is the latest version of OmniPage (8.0). It is highly accurate at scanning typed or printed material. This can save you money by saving keystrokes.

High Resolution Scanning:  Accurate reproduction often requires high resolution scanning. Our equipment provides resolutions up to a true 600 B&W and 1200 color dpi for accurate reproduction without distortion.

Page and Sheet Layout/B&W and Color Prints and Proofs: In-house, we have two 1200 dpi black and white laser printers with 11"X17" output capacity, and two 1200 dpi color laser printers with output capacity up to 12"X18".  The high-quality output from these Postscript printers allows many jobs to go straight to neg. or plate. Our laser outputs provide an accurate, reliable and inexpensive proofing methodology. We can provide you with files on diskettes, Zip-disks or CDs. In many cases we can also e-mail your files.

B&W Film Output, Color Separations/Image Setting or Camera Ready Art:  At Key-One, we have the capability to output black and white camera ready (RC) paper proofs; black and white film negatives or positives as well as cost effective four color film. Our imagesetters are used to produce printing quality negatives from computer files. Printing done from these types of negatives will be crisper and cleaner than printing done from traditional camera ready art. Image setting is also much less expensive than separations done from camera ready art.

Turnaround Time?  One to two day turnaround time is normal, usually without a rush charge!
